Paul Curtin

I was raised in Racine, Wisconsin and have been a lifetime resident with the exception of my snow bird status for 25 years. My family has been in the real estate business as far back as I can remember. I started out as a salesman with Orth and Associates and quickly left there to open Curtin Realty with two offices serving the Racine County area. As the market conditions changed I branched out to form Harvest Investments, a real estate company doing business with foreign nationals. In the mean time I opened Country Carpets that has now evolved into CarpetsPlus Colortile of Racine with two store fronts. I have also opened The Furniture Store, an upscale furniture and accessory store in Racine. This past year, 2015, we negotiated a lease purchase for the former Chartroom, a restaurant with 550 feet of water frontage along Root river with 27 boat slips and direct access to Lake Michigan. These business's are family owned and run with direct hands on involvement on a daily basis.

In addition to running these business's I was fortunate enough to find time to be Chairman of Ducks Unlimited for Western Racine County. We raised thousands of dollars for the cause through special events including the first ever golf outing which inspired other chapters throughout the Country to follow suit and has now become a standard event nationwide.

In 2001 I had a dream of cleaning up Racine's lakefront (beach). Over the years it had been overrun by undesirables. The City had pretty much washed their hands of it as all of their attempts to restore it failed. With hard work and dedication my vision came to light as I transformed the beach from the number one drug and crime area in Racine to the number one tourist spot, generating millions of dollars for the County over my ten years of operation. Working with both City and County officials we brought in International marathons and professional PRO-V volleyball with the world championships on our lakefront.
